Talk to text for messages, email and everyday writing
Talk to text is at its best for the kind of writing where you already know what you want to say: a reply to a colleague, a note to yourself, a long message to a friend. You skip the typing and spend your effort on the wording.
A good habit: talk, clean, check
- Talk. Say the whole message without stopping to fix things.
- Clean. Use Clean up text to remove filler words and repeated phrases.
- Check. Read it once, especially names, numbers and dates, then copy it.
Talk to text and accessibility
Talking can be easier than typing for people with dyslexia, repetitive strain, limited hand mobility or low vision, or just a tired day. HeyScribe is a normal web page with labelled controls and keyboard support, so it works with the assistive tools you already use. It is not a replacement for specialist assistive software, but it can be a useful extra.
If you would like a running transcript of what other people are saying, rather than what you are saying, use live transcribe. To transcribe a recording, go to audio to text.
